SXSW Tote
SXSW Tote
It’s always fun to design for people / products / things that you are already well acquainted with (and like!) so I was very happy when SXSW contacted me to design their tote bag for 2015’s Interactive festival. In our initial meeting, they showed me previous years’ tote bags and we talked about which seemed to be big hits and why (clearly, those that had a sense of humor and referenced tech culture won big with their crowd). I brainstormed with a few of my friends in the webby world while at a conference, and "wearables" was a term we couldn’t seem to get away from. This was, after all, the year of the Apple Watch. The end design pokes fun of both tote bags and wearable tech culture.
